Rhodes Hardwood is a Minneapolis Minnesota based wood flooring company offering sales, installation, sanding + refinishing of all types of wood floors throughout Minneapolis + St. Paul MN and the greater Twin Cities metro area. We offer nationwide shipping of many of the hardwood products we sell. We offer a great selection of flooring products, a wide variety of stain + finish options including; non-toxic hardwax oils, low VOC Water stains + finishes and traditional polyurethane finishes.
Our company is family owned + operated by brothers Dustin + Cody Rhodes. Most of our team has been with us 10+ years. Although we have a very high demand for our services, we have kept our team small by choice, so we can maintain the highest quality workmanship. Instead of trying to attain every possible project, we pay our team members well, treat them like family, offer the best quality of service, use the best flooring and finishing products at a rate that’s a bit above average while targeting a client base that prefers excellent quality and longevity over the cheapest price. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
Our specialty is site finished hardwood floors due to the countless benefits over the prefinished variety. Our team is amongst the best in the country at sanding + finishing floors and our work has been recognized and awarded by our peers and by the top authority of our niche, the National Wood Flooring Association.
Most recently, the NWFA released their first ever “40 under 40” list, which recognized the best of the best craftsmen in our niche while considering all wood flooring craftsmen in the US and of the 40 professionals recognized, our 2 owners were 2 of the 40 on the list.

For convenience to our potential customers, pricing for our products and services are listed here on our site. We also do all estimating via email and most find this extremely convenient.
Upfront pricing + estimating via email also allow our small company the ability to handle the high volume of contacts we receive. Since demand exceeds our man power we’ve found that the only way to offer estimates to everyone is to handle the estimating portion of the process this way, as it helps to narrow down the contacts to those that are able to commit to using our services prior to visiting their home.
Most clients we work with find our process of estimating projects to be very convenient.
As an added convenience, we also have a project estimator that allows potential clients to get a rough idea of what the labor portion of their project will cost. You simply choose the service you need and enter the size of the space and it instantly provides a rough cost for the work.

To obtain a free estimate, all we need are a few simple details about your project. Helpful info includes; room measurements or the square footage of the areas that you’d like to have done. As noted above we’ll gladly visit your home after your initial estimate and confirmation of your intent to hire us. At that time, we can discuss details and timing, we’ll also show you wood and finish samples if needed.
CUSTOM ABILITIES
Amongst others in our industry we’re recognized for being amongst the best in our field with regard to custom installations and custom finishing. We regularly consult with other top company owners throughout the US assisting them with custom work. Some of our custom finishing offerings we taught ourselves by studying old wood finishing techniques of widely known pioneers such as Gustoff Stickley and we pioneered ways of applying these unique techniques, to an entire wood floor.
Some of our custom abilities include; texturing with hand scraping + wirebrushing, French bleeding, bleaching, ebonizing, thermo treating, cerusing, wood block mosaics, fuming, dyes, smoke treatments, aging, parquetry, herringbone + chevron and much more. If it’s possible with wood, we can do it.
Although our specialty is site finished floors due to their countless benefits over factory finished, some clients we encounter still want prefinished flooring. For those that do, we have built a great relationship with the largest finishing facility in the US and have worked out arrangements with a couple flooring mills that allow us to offer bespoke prefinishing of flooring. This allows us to work with clients to find the exact look they want while getting a prefinished product if they desire.
PRODUCT OFFERINGS
Our product offerings include Sustainably harvested lumber from some of the best mills in the business. Our main supplier of domestic hardwoods is a Wisconsin based mill that’s been in the business over 100 years. We also have the largest selection of Reclaimed hardwood flooring + paneling in the Twin Cities, the largest selection of exotic wood flooring in the area, the largest selection of end grain mosaics such as wood blocks and hexagon blocks, several options of flooring that’s been sawn differently to give it a different grain appearance. These include; European oak, rift sawn, quarter sawn, rift + quartered, live sawn and more. We ship many of these hard to procure woods throughout the country.
